Join us in a communal ritual known as Kapu Kai, led by Collective Justice circlekeeper Matt Kama’aina. This Kanaka Maoli saltwater ceremony invites us to cleanse ourselves, set clear intentions, make heartfelt offerings and release what no longer serves us. We will begin before sunrise in the quiet hour before dawn, take part in a traditional oli (chant) to Kukulukumuhana—a soulful pooling of our collective mana. We will then pause individually to set intentions before stepping into the sacred ocean for the ceremonial Kapu Kai as the sun graces us with its first light. We’ll close in circle around a crackling fire, for warmth and community. If inspired, bring some snacks to share.
