Right now, many communities of color — especially immigrant and refugee communities — are under attack. Our communities face an immediate threat, and we must come together in order to make our voices heard.
Voices of color are vastly underrepresented in our country’s leadership, so the responsibility falls on the communities themselves to organize and demand seats at the decision-making table. Our voices are critical to making equitable decisions that support all people, regardless of income, race, gender, or ability.
Strength through collective voice
Our Community Alliance brings together a critical mass of voices from communities of color, strengthening our voice of reason and making our ideas heard. We work with our partners to mobilize our communities to march, to testify, and to contact policy-makers so that our communities become healthier, safer, and more just.
By bringing together a diverse group of communities, we can advocate on behalf of many groups, not just one. We can develop positions that accurately reflect the communities they affect.
Our collaboration also facilitates resource-sharing and creates strategic partnerships, creating the opportunity for local action across diverse communities of color.
