RVC Finance Coordinator

Position: Finance Coordinator
Reports to: Co-Executive Director of Finance & Organizational Development
Work Location: Must reside in the Greater Seattle area by date of hire
Schedule: 37.5 hours a week. 80% work from home, 20% in person meetings
Position type: Full Time/ Exempt
Salary: $62,300 – $75,800/year
Start date: June 2023

Summary of position

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for accounts payable and assists in strengthening our  internal finance and risk management. The right person for this role can work with non profit budgets, interpret finance data and operations to make system improvements, and help create organization-wide processes. This position is part of the General Operations Team. Our team centers equitable and pro-Black operations and human resources practices. Essential Responsibilities

Finance Management

  • Manage daily finance and accounting operations including account payable and receivable, credit card system management, monthly reconciliation of missing receipts and coding.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with all financial institutions and accountant to oversee and monitor banking and financial activity 
  • Work with supervisor to create and update finance procedures and processes
  • Assist with annual audit, financial reporting, budget forecasting, and end of fiscal year processes
  • Interpret financial data to make recommendations for financial decision making
  • Train and provide ongoing support to RVC staff on standard finance procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate finance processes with the Operations Support team for our 19+ operation support partners.
  • Participate in RVC’s Board finance committee on a needed basis.

Risk Management & Office Administration

  • Manage RVC annual compliance calendar and file all licensing and legal paperwork with local, state, and federal agencies in a timely manner
  • Monitor and research legal and regulatory requirements and best practices in order to ensure that RVC is in compliance with operational and financial work  
  • Communicate and contact insurance providers to secure all needed insurance coverage and renew coverages annually
  • Process certificate requests, updating locations, and inform insurance of events or coverage needs
  • Works with the Co-Executive Directors team to identify, create, and improve policies and processes to ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors, and partners
  • Liaison to IT consultant 
  • Manage office needs and provide administrative support as needed

  • Submit and track program expenses based on RVC protocol
  • These are organization-wide responsibilities. All staff hold the following responsibilities:

Skills Required:

  • 2+ years of experience with nonprofit finance, compliance, and/or accounting such as coordinator or associate work or higher 
  • Demonstrated skills in project management, problem analysis, and systems thinking skills.
  • Understanding and experience with Quickbooks or similar financial CRM software=
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
