Position: Operations Support Program Manager

Reports to: Operations Support Program Director

Location: Work from home and hybrid schedule (Must live in Greater Seattle Area by date of hire)

Position type: Full Time/ Exempt

Salary: $70,000-82,000/year

Summary of position

RVC is searching for a dynamic person to provide program management support to the growing Operations Support Program. This Operations Support Program Manager (PM) will be joining a team that provides Model A fiscal sponsorship services to 18+ BIPOC-led non-profit partners by supporting their administrative, human resources, finance, and legal needs. As a PM, you will manage a small portfolio of partnerships, provide supervision to a portion of the team, and develop program procedures and systems to strengthen program service delivery.  A successful candidate for this role will have a lived and deep connection to the Seattle BIPOC community; have experience in nonprofit administration, human resources,  and/or finance;  be committed to upholding RVC’s values and mission; be interested in working in our self-management model of shared leadership, and have a deep desire to engage in professional development throughout the year. 

Essential Responsibilities 

Operations Support Partner Organization Support (50%)

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 4 partner organizations acting as the primary point of contact in receiving operations support, maintaining a high level of responsiveness, and building strong, trusting relationships
  • Facilitate onboarding of new partner organizations, ensuring that they feel well-supported
  • Act as a liaison as needed for partner organizations to external stakeholders ie. potential funders, contract monitors, consultants

Operations Support Program Management (40%)

  • Supervise Operations Support Program Associates/ Program Managers, providing excellent staff coaching and training, if applicable
  • Assist in hiring and training of new Operations Support Program Associate/ Manager
  • Assist in determining the Operations Support Program budget and plan strategically for the program’s growth
  • Ensure all legal paperwork, licensing, insurance, and other aspects of organizational operations are properly maintained
  • Ensure that operations program support partners’ finance, human resource, and legal systems are efficient and user-friendly, strategically assessing them regularly and making improvements
  • Play a key role in developing RVC’s operations support program
  • Take the lead on special projects to research and improve various aspects of the support RVC provides to partner organizations

Organizational Operations (10%)

These are organization-wide responsibilities. All staff holds the following responsibilities:

  • Submit and track program expenses based on RVC protocol. 
  • Collaborate with staff in making key strategic decisions affecting RVC’s future
  • Engage in deep professional development
  • Participate in staff meetings, attend community events, and otherwise contribute to strengthening the deep roots within our community, both internally and externally

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years experience working with BIPOC-lead and grassroots organizations, community organizing, operations management, and/or a closely-related field.  
  • 2+  years of experience in non-profit accounting, financial, and operations management in BIPOC-led or grassroot organizations.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish (preferred, not required)
  • Understanding of 501(c)3 and Model A fiscal sponsorship regulations and the ability to develop systems and procedures to maintain compliance and strong service delivery. 
  • High emotional intelligence, able to easily develop deep, trusting relationships with diverse individuals from many different backgrounds
  • Ability to shift communication and consulting styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations
  • Can remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations while keeping a cool head 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to draft emails, policies, and procedures, and review contracts. 
  • An eye for creating efficiencies and keeping track of details, especially in relation to budgets and developing program systems. 
  • Comfortable with computers and a variety of online platforms.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.

Work Structure and Environment 

This is a full-time, exempt position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a salary range of $70,000-82,000/year but the exact calculation will be determined by a salary equity calculator. The final salary offer will be dependent on experience and levels of responsibility within the organization. We believe in work-life balance and are committed to keeping the workload in alignment with the true hours worked. 

Our Hiring Process & Timeline:
